10 Things I Do When I’m Entering a New Era

Hi my beautiful readers,

I cannot believe how fast time is flying. I hope you are all hanging in there this holiday season. I know these months can be tough. I am definitely missing summer since it gets dark so early now. So I wanted to share the 10 things I am doing to celebrate this new season and use these winter months to prep for my upcoming goals. Little rituals and resets that make this darker time of year feel softer, sweeter, and full of possibility!!!

  1. Clean out my physical space
Reorganizing my closet, donating clothes that do not match the version of me I am becoming, clearing out old makeup, rearranging my room, and creating an environment that feels like the new era instead of the old one.
  2. Do a digital detox + social media unfollow sweep
Unfollowing anyone who drains me, muting the noise, clearing out my camera roll, deleting old screenshots, organizing voice memos, and making my digital world feel peaceful and inspiring again.
  3. Audit how I am spending my time
Looking at my week honestly and asking what is actually moving my life forward, what is draining me, and what deserves more of my energy. Cutting out time wasters and doubling down on the habits that genuinely change my life.
  4. Refresh my creative rituals
Journaling, doing The Artist’s Way morning pages, writing without pressure, and reconnecting with creativity like it is a friend instead of a job. Making space for inspiration to find me again.
  5. Pinterest my new era aesthetic
Building new boards, new moods, new energy. Using Pinterest as a visual blueprint for who I am becoming. Style, routines, habits, spaces, colors, and the overall vibe of the next chapter.
  6. Rewrite my daily routines
Small adjustments that shift everything. A new morning ritual, a nighttime wind down that actually calms my mind, a Sunday reset that grounds me, or a weekly check in with myself. Routines that support the new version of me.
  7. Let go of old versions of myself
Forgiving who I was, releasing expectations, dropping self judgment, and shedding any identity that feels limiting. Allowing myself to outgrow chapters without guilt.
  8. Curate what I consume
Replacing doomscrolling with books, podcasts, playlists, sermons, or videos that pour into me. Surrounding myself with voices that nurture the energy I want to carry into this next era.
  9. Reconnect with God and my purpose
Asking for clarity in prayer, listening for direction, and remembering that every era shift is spiritual before it is practical. Making space for God to speak into what is next.
  10. Create a vision for the future me
Asking what she wears, how she moves, what she stands for, and what her day looks like. Then beginning to act like her now. Stepping into the new era before it arrives.

Thank you so much for reading. I love resetting and I love beginnings!!! There is something about refreshing my life whenever I am in the middle of a shift that keeps me motivated and excited for what is ahead. I also brought back the "Live, Laugh, Lily Kincade" podcast that comes out every Monday. You can listen to the latest episode here. Also, reminding you to stream "Cinematic" and comment below your current favorite song. I am in a big "Crime Scene With No Evidence" mood as of lately...anyone else? Sending you all so much love and blessings!!!

Xoxo, Lily
