My First Show in Hollywood
Last week, I played my very first show in Hollywood. That sentence alone feels like it should be written in cursive on a cocktail napkin and folded into a locket. It was at the Hotel Café, a tiny, iconic venue tucked away behind an unassuming red door. A place where Adele once cried at a piano and where Katy Perry strummed before the world knew her name.
And now…me. HOW ICONIC!!!
I walked in feeling like the ghost of every girl who’s ever wanted more. More music. More life. More LOVE. I wore a stunning deep teal dress from my personal vintage collection that went perfectly with the deep red stage. My heart was pounding, but the moment I stepped on stage, everything went still. I sang like I was telling secrets to a room full of strangers and somehow, they already knew every word. I cried on the way home from the show because I was so happy. There’s vlog footage from the night (you can watch it here) but even the video can’t capture the electricity in the air.
I think I’ve always believed that music finds who it’s meant to find. That the right lyrics land in the right hearts, and that’s what happened that night. This was just the beginning of what I know will be a very long fulfilling career.
Here are some photos from the night. Polaroid memories I’ll carry with me forever.
Thank you for listening. For reading. For being part of this strange, beautiful dream with me. Can't wait to see you on tour.
Xoxo, Lily
